Saltkjelsnes Camping is situated by the Rødvenfjord at the RV 64 between Molde and Åndalsnes. Attractions such as the Trollstigen Road and the Atlantic Road are in the same region, and our campsite is a great base for day trips to great attractions in the mountains and. The camping ground have cabins in various standards, both simple and fully equipped. Private jetty with rental boats, suitable for fishing in the fjord.

Romsdalsfjord is one of the cleanest and species-rich fjords in Norway. 68 different fish-species are registered in the fjord. Saltkjelsneset camping ground is located by the Rødven fjord, which is a great base for a memorable fishing holiday.


We have 14 cabins, 6 high standard cabins, and 8 nice, simple cabins. There are spots for caravans, campervans and tents. Free wifi on the camp ground.

Very good facilities for fishing activities. The camping ground has a nice play-area, with good swimming possibilities. The place is very child-friendly.

What more you can do here

The place is a great starting point for hiking and sightseeing in the area. There are plenty of shorter and longer hikes nearby our camp site. For historical interested people Romsdalen valley has a rich history waiting to be explored. A ride on the scenic Rauma Line will take you through the beauty of our valley. If you join Skiri River Walk along the Rauma River you can learn more about the old settlement and discover beautiful secret places along the riverside. Further up in the valley you can find Sagelva Hydropower Center that shows the history of how water has been exploited for more than 300 years. In Rødven, only a few kilometres from the camping ground you can find one of Norway’s oldest stave churches; Rødven Stavkirke.Exploring Ålesund, Geiranger, the Atlantic road and Mardalsfossen are perfect day trip activities when staying here. You can also bring your Greencard and play golf at Norway’s oldest and probably most beautiful golf courts; Rauma Golfbane, approved as an eighteen hole court. If you like to hike in the mountains we can reccommend you to hike the Romsdalseggen ridge, one of the most scenic hiking routes in Norway! Or if you prefer a shorter hike, try the Rampestreken viewpoint. If you would like a realxing journey through the beautiful Romsdal valley we can reccommend you to join the beautiful train journey Rauma Line.

How to get here
If you don’t have your own car, you can easily get here by the public bus. The bus between Åndalsnes and Molde, bus number 420. Several departures every day. Bus stops 300 meters from the camping ground.
The rates apply for 1 cabin per night. The fee for cleaning will be added to the booking order. It is possible to do the cleaning yourself, and then the fee for cleaning will be refunded if the cleaning is accepted. Additionally, there will be an extra cost for renting bed linen.
